Each year we shear our alpacas, keeping fleece for spinners and selling to yarn producers.
We now arrange to manufacture some of our fleece into doonas, underlay's, baby cocoons, dog beds & knee rugs.

The doonas and underlay's are made as a full batt of fibre, stitched securely in position in the japara cotton cover and bound with a cotton sateen binding.

Grown in Gisborne and made in Victoria Australia, from all new materials.

We have experienced sleeping under feather quilts, wool blankets, duvets and doonas and now alpaca doonas. Having slept under these quilted alpaca doonas for years we can personally recommend them as a high quality, light weight product, great all year round.

Alpaca fibre gives luxurious, breathable warmth and comfort for a great nights’ sleep. Ideal for cool climate sleeping, we even sleep under these wonderful doonas in summer.

BABY COCOON

Suitable for baby's birth to size 0 (approx. 6 months)
This cocoon is a soft construction, no backboard or handles. The baby cocoon has a sateen finish, with the same construction as our doonas. A single batt of 80% alpaca 20% wool is sewn into a japara cotton cover.
Equivalent to 2 wool blankets but still light and airy enough not to be sticky or uncomfortably warm. Ideal for winter walks in the pram. This item is not designed as a sleeping bag.

We also offer an embroidered cocoon with 2 sweet little alpacas facing one another. (See photo lower right)

DOG BED

Japara lined dog bed has a zipper for easy removal of 80% alpaca 20% polyester stuffing for easy laundering. The outer covers at present come in heavy duty upholstery fabric, a purple colour with a tight weave pattern or a red & black fine check upholstery fabric pattern. Outer cover closes with a full velcro seal
on shortest end.

As with all of our products the alpaca stuffing should not be washed. I usually put the stuffing in a bag or box and leave it in the sun to air while waiting for the covers to dry.

Our dogs have not been able to scratch through the purple fabric in the six months they have been sleeping on these beds. Great for older dogs who feel the cold or need extra thickness.
Please stipulate your preference of cover when purchasing. Beds can be purchased without cover, see below.

CARE
Please follow the label care instructions attached to your items.
Items made in the Doona style should never be washed, dry clean only. Air in the sunlight as frequently as possible. Washing may result in felting and loss of thermal properties.

Warranty
Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase as this is required for your 12 month manufacturers warranty. The warranty is on workmanship, please contact us regarding returns. The manufacturer will repair or replace damaged items if found to be related to workmanship e.g. stitching, not for damage caused by lack of care or if the item is subjected to use it was not intended for. Refunds will only be issued if the damaged item cannot be repaired and a replacement is no longer available.

Exchange can only be made on items which have not been used. We cannot resell a used items so please select carefully. Please contact us before returning goods.
